A tourist hotspot in Florida that voted last week to become a sanctuary city changed its mind after intense pressure from state-level elected officials.
Key West commissioners at a city hall meeting on Tuesday night voted to uphold an agreement it had with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to cooperate with the Trump administration’s mass deportation effort.
Those same commissioners chose in a 6-1 vote to void that same agreement last week and turn the area into a sanctuary city .
