Two women are facing felony charges for a shooting at an Illinois McDonald’s earlier this month, during which one of them was struck in the leg.
The St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Kathy Bledsoe, 44, with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and Tynika McKinzie, 35, with aggravated battery and mob action for their alleged involvement in the shooting, according to a Belleville Police Department news release. Belleville, Illinois, is a city of about 40,000 people located in the southern part of the state.
On July 16, Bledsoe, a manager at the McDonald’s location, asked a teenage female employee to take trash to the dumpster. The employee refused to move the garbage and was told to clock out and go home by Bledsoe, the news release stated.
The employee contacted her mother, McKinzie, who responded to the store with another young girl. After causing a verbal disturbance in the McDonald’s, McKinzie and the girl went behind the restaurant’s front counter and to the office area, the news release continued.
Once in the office, McKinzie allegedly “battered” Bledsoe in the face and head. During the altercation, Bledsoe produced a handgun and shot McKinzie once in the leg, officials said.
